Launch
The site launch is a major milestone in the web development process however, there's more to it than simply "flipping a switch". A comprehensive Quality Assurance test plan that considers multiple browsers and platforms should be executed prior to launch. Doing so helps ensure that any inconsistencies are caught by the development team and not the public.
So after several weeks, possibly months, of diligently executing a carefully planned production schedule complete with testing, the launch date has come and it's time to give the all systems go signal. But the work doesn't end there. Post-launch usability testing and analysis of traffic stats can help measure the ROI of the new site. And then of course there's on-going maintenance.
