When building skyscrapers and houses, it's vital that construction crews lay a sound foundation that will stabilize and support the height and weight of the building. Likewise, building a useful web site, one that generates loyal, returning visitors, demands that web development teams create a solid foundation before design begins.
Although it is important to create a visually-appealing design, it's even more important to build a web site that functions well. That's why for every web site we build we create flow charts that highlight web site behavior, wireframes that depict individual page structure and site maps that display how the entire site fits together. These deliverables help ensure that each site includes exactly what is needed to adequately serve its visitors and they head off costly, last-minute changes caused by "minor" oversights. Once the foundation has been set we move into the graphic design phase and create a look and feel that supports the goals of the site.
